COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Ohio motorists are one step closer to getting a new license plate option.
The Ohio Senate on Wednesday unanimously passed Senate Bill 358, which would make blackout license plates — or those featuring a black background and white letters — available to drivers through the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
The legislation, introduced by Sen. Nathan Manning (R-North Ridgeville) in February, will now move to the House for consideration.
The blackout plate would cost $40 plus a $10 administrative fee. Revenue collected from the license plates would go toward funding highway safety initiatives by the Ohio Department of Public Safety…
