Old West End Festival shooting suspect returns to court for preliminary hearing

TOLEDO, Ohio — A suspect in a mass shooting at the Old West End Festival returned to court Monday morning for a scheduled preliminary hearing.

Ka Nye Taylor faces 11 counts of felonious assault following a June 6 shooting that left 12 people injured. He was arrested June 17 in Columbus by state marshals and Ohio State Highway Patrol SWAT before being extradited to Lucas County.

Taylor appeared before a judge Friday, June 19, and requested a public defender.
