COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to become more numerous this evening and continue at times through tonight as a weak disturbance moves across the Ohio Valley. While confidence in exactly where storms will develop remains somewhat low due to extensive cloud cover and limited instability, the atmosphere will remain very moist. Any storms that do form will be capable of producing brief periods of heavy rainfall, with localized downpours leading to ponding on roads and reduced visibility. Lightning will also be a concern for anyone with outdoor plans this evening.

The unsettled pattern continues into Monday as another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms develops during the afternoon and evening. Widespread severe weather is not expected, but slow-moving storms will once again be capable of producing locally heavy rain. Rainfall coverage will vary from place to place, so not everyone will see rain, but most locations have at least a chance for a passing shower or storm…
