Winton Machine Company has been a mainstay in Suwanee for nearly 30 years and it was recently recognized by U.S. Rep. Andrew Clyde as it waits to find out if it won a national competition for small businesses.
Clyde recognized the company as a “Special Georgian of the Ninth” to highlight the fact that it is one of five finalists in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Freedom 250 Patriot Pitch Competition. The five finalists had to make their pitches to a panel of judges — including U.S. Chief Design Officer and Brookwood High School graduate Joe Gebbia, who co-founded AirBNB, singer Nicki Minaj and private equity manager Grant Cardone — during a taped finale hosted by actor Dean Cain.
The Small Business Administration has not yet announced the results of the finale, which is expected to air as a primetime special in October, although the exact air date has not yet been announced…
