Dallas Police investigating four separate holiday weekend homicides

The Dallas Police Department has released preliminary information on four separate homicide shootings that occurred throughout the city over the Labor Day weekend holiday.

On September 6, 2026, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 5600 block of S.R.L. Thornton Freeway Northbound. The preliminary investigation determined that a 27-year-old man was shot by an unknown suspect. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition. On September 7, 2026, at approximately 12:00 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a disturbance call in the 5100 block of Cardiff Street. The preliminary investigation determined that a 64-year-old man was shot by a 33-year-old suspect. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
