JOHNSTON, Iowa – Several central Iowa fire departments are on the scene of a structure fire Thursday in the 6700 block of Gables Way in Johnston. Fire crews arrived at the townhomes around 10 a.m. Shortly after that Shawn Sampsel, who lives in a neighboring unit, said he arrived on the scene to see flames and smoke coming out of the multi-family property’s roof.
