WARREN/MOUNT CLEMENS — The son of a woman who was killed in a crash said he and his five brothers thought their mother was perfect.
“I’m a proud mama’s boy. All five of us are,” said Robert Drew. “We’re not ashamed of that. She was our favorite person in the world.”
His mother, Wendy Drew, was a fan of John Wayne, he said, causing laughter from his family who filled Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Sabaugh’s courtroom. When she started dialysis, they were told she wasn’t doing the proper treatments.
“When she wasn’t doing the proper follow-ups it kind of got relayed to us, so we kind of set up an intervention,” he said. “All those boys came to tell her how much she meant to us.”…
