OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma City teacher is bringing nearly $20,000 in classroom grants and supplies to her school after winning a national teacher appreciation campaign.
Kimberly Smith, a second-grade teacher at Heartland Elementary, was named one of 10 nationwide winners in Simple Modern’s third annual Stock Your School campaign after receiving support from parents, students, families and community members during a public vote.
More than 175,000 votes were cast nationwide across all 50 states during the campaign.
As a winner, Heartland Elementary, located in the Choctaw-Nicoma Park School District, will receive nearly $20,000 in support, including a $1,000 classroom grant, $500 to fulfill Smith’s classroom wish list, 500 reusable water bottles for students and 100 Getaway Bags for teachers and staff…
