Sad restaurant news came to Eugene at the end of April. Izakaya Meiji and The Davis, two Eugene food scene staples, announced their closure. Both spots fostered community and served great food to the city for over 15 years, solidifying them as some of the old guards of the restaurant scene.
But it’s not all sad news for foodies this week. Two new restaurants are opening, bringing diner classics and hot pot to the city. Mandy’s second location, a Ducks-themed diner, opened for soft hours on Broadway. Customers can expect yellow and green decor galore, and a menu full of breakfast and burgers at the new 24-hour joint.

Mandy’s opens in new location on Broadway
The building at 652 E. Broadway in Eugene has changed its bright purple exterior for a dazzling green and yellow. The space is now the second location of Mandy’s Family Restaurant, a Eugene diner established in 2019…
