HENDERSON, Ky. — The speed limit has been lowered from 45 mph to 35 mph along a busy stretch of the U.S. 41-U.S. 60 interchange in Henderson, a change city and state transportation leaders say is needed to improve safety amid growing traffic and development in the area.
The new limit took effect this week on the segment between the intersections of U.S. 41A, also known as Green Street, and Herron Avenue to U.S. 60 and Killiecrankie Drive. New signage was installed over the weekend.
Henderson police and city leaders worked with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to implement the reduction. Sgt. Bill Russell said the decision was based on crash data, resident complaints and increasing congestion in the corridor…
