While it wasn’t quite the blowout for them that recent country music awards shows have been, performers from Alabama had a good night at the American Music Awards.
Held Monday night in Las Vegas, the award show revealed a multi-genre slate of fan-voted honors. Alabama’s Ella Langley was up for five awards including two of the biggest: New Artist of the Year and Song of the Year.
Langley, who is from Hope Hull, was fresh off a seven-trophy sweep at the Academy of Country Music Awards, including Female Artist of the Year. Her single “Choosin’ Texas” has set records this year while holding the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. But the AMAs seemed to show that country still has some room to grow…
