(WGN) — A new report released Tuesday morning concludes that while the Chicago Bears would benefit significantly from property tax relief, Illinois residents would not benefit so much from a pending megaprojects bill that could help lure the Bears to build a new stadium in northwest suburban Arlington Heights.
The report, commissioned by Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas — who’s scheduled to appear on Tuesday’s edition of The Point — looks at the megaprojects bill that’s currently pending in Springfield. The bill has cleared the Illinois House and is currently being reviewed and revised by the Illinois Senate. If it passes through the Senate, the bill would go to Gov. JB Pritzker for a signature.
