Saratoga Co. sheriff deputy, K-9 graduate from human remains detection school

SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office has acquired a new investigative tool that it says is highly important for serving the citizens of Saratoga County. A sheriff deputy and his K-9 partner graduated from cadaver/human remains detection (HRD) school on Friday.

Deputy Anthony Praga and K-9 Bush went through 80 hours of training to receive the certification. The training consisted of three new odor imprints relative to cadaver/HRD, which involved woods, fields and water searches.

K-9 Bush will also remained certified in patrol/tracking and narcotics detection. The school was hosted by partners at the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office.
