A young man from Plainfield is lucky to be okay after an explosion on the Illinois River.
First responders were called Monday evening about an explosion and fire in the area of the Seneca boat launch. Conservation Police Sgt. Phil Wire says a man in his 20s had just fixed up a personal watercraft, or jet ski, and was using it on the Illinois River when it malfunctioned and exploded. The rider was launched into the river. He amazingly was just a little sore and refused an ambulance trip to the hospital…
