3 Greene County men arrested after fight in McDonald’s parking lot

CAIRO, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Three Greene County men were arrested on Tuesday after they allegedly beat two people with various weapons in Cairo, according to New York State Police. 31-year-old Michael Martin of Durham, 34-year-old Joseph Holloway of Cairo and 29-year-old Cody Holloway of Cairo each face several charges.

The incident reportedly occurred just before 5 p.m. in the parking lot of a McDonald’s on Route 32. State Police said the three men had gotten into a physical altercation with a 43-year-old man and 35-year-old woman, during which various weapons, including a bat, metal pipe and hammer, were displayed or used to hit the victims.

The 43-year-old and 35-year-old were reportedly evaluated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries and refused further medical treatment. Meanwhile, Martin, Joseph Holloway and Cody Holloway were arrested without further incident and charged with the following, according to State Police:

  • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Second-degree menacing (two counts)

Joseph Holloway

  • Second-degree menacing
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Second-degree assault

Cody Holloway

  • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Second-degree assault
  • Second-degree menacing
  • Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon

Both Martin and Joseph Holloway were arraigned at Town of Cairo Court with bail set at $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond and $100,000 partially-secured bond. Cody Holloway’s bail was set at $50,000 cash, $150,000 bond and $200,000 partially-secured bond. All three are scheduled to reappear in court on Friday, State Police said.
