KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Leavenworth County family is asking the community for help locating its pet tortoise.
Liam the sulcata tortoise escaped Sunday evening from his outdoor pen on the east side of 166th Street in Basehor, according to a Facebook post from the owner.
The owner said Liam’s shell is very recognizable because his first owner didn’t treat the tortoise well. Liam’s scutes aren’t uniform, and he has a dent in the left side of his shell. The tortoise weights roughly 50 pounds, according to his family…
