APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) — More than 200 Wisconsin National Guard soldiers returned home Thursday after being deployed for more than a year.
The soldiers serve in the 2nd Battalion, 127th Infantry Regiment. Two planes arrived at Appleton International Airport, the first around 2:30 p.m. and a second at 3:30 p.m., amid a celebration.
The troops came from Texas, where they spent a week preparing for a return to civilian life after serving on active duty in the Middle East in seven different countries.
