NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Longtime radio host and Grand Ole Opry announcer Bill Cody is in critical condition after suffering organ failure, his family announced Sunday.
Cody is a Country Radio Hall of Famer and one of the most familiar and beloved voices in country music broadcasting with more than three decades as the host of WSM Radio’s morning show “Coffee, Country and Cody.”
In a statement shared Sunday night, Cody’s daughter, Hannah, said he was admitted to the hospital approximately three weeks ago in heart and kidney failure. Following weeks of dialysis and tests, it was determined his only option for survival would be a double transplant for the failing organs.
