KANSAS CITY. Mo. — North Kansas City officials will discuss a proposed ban on camping in public spaces tonight, preventing tourists from setting up camping villages in public parks during the World Cup.
The proposed camping ban comes after the increasing demand and costs of hotels over the course of the tournament, which may encourage fans to camp instead.
The City Council will also consider renting a parking lot, located at 18th and Burlington, to provide additional free parking for World Cup fans visiting the city. The lot is being considered for a two-month time frame at $4,000 to accommodate these fans…
