KNOXVILLE (WATE) — Knox County Commissioner Andy Fox is proposing a moratorium on data centers at the next commission meeting.
If approved, the moratorium would forbid the location, construction, operation, permitting and vesting of data center facilities within Knox County until June 30, 2027.

In the resolution, a data center is described as including but not limited to AI and cryptocurrency-mining operation or block-chain computing centers.
