HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – An Indiana woman who was injured after a Henderson County Sheriff’s deputy reportedly shot her following a pursuit has filed a federal complaint against the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Henderson Police Department claiming the shooting was an excessive use of force in response to an unjustified police pursuit.
According to court documents, Sheriff’s Deputy Gary Jones fired four shots into a vehicle, injuring the plaintiff, Timberlynn Floyd, who was a passenger in the vehicle. Floyd alleges that the use of deadly force was “objectively unreasonable” as she posed no threat to law enforcement or anyone at the time.
The lawsuit also claims that law enforcement in Henderson violated numerous policies to pursue the vehicle without justification.

In the timeline established in the lawsuit, Henderson Police Officer Noah Howell attempted to initiate a traffic stop on July 10 of last year for expired registration.
