Rockford man sentenced to 16 years in federal prison for trafficking fentanyl, heroin

ROCKFORD, Ill (WTVO) — Demargio Tripp, 36, has been sentenced today to 16 years in federal prison for trafficking drugs in the Rockford area.

Authorities said Tripp pleaded guilty earlier this year to distributing 40 grams or more of fentanyl and heroin between 2024 and 2025. Prosecutors said he also admitted in May 2025 to possessing cocaine and other narcotics with intent to distribute.
