MACHESNEY PARK — The local team that brought the first Charleys Cheesesteaks franchise to the village cut the ribbon on Friday on their new restaurant along West Lane Road in front of Meijer.
The franchise known for grilled-to-order cheesesteaks, loaded fries, crispy wings, real fruit lemonade, shakes and other signature drinks opened Monday at 1768 West Lane Road, suite C, which is in the First Midwest Group building with Royal Nail Spa and Athletico Physical Therapy. It celebrated its ribbon-cutting Friday in a ceremony with officials from Loves Park, Machesney Park and the Parks Chamber of Commerce.
“We believe that Machesney Park and the Rockford (area) deserves great food, great service and a place where people can gather. Charleys has a strong reputation, amazing food and values that align with our own,” said Thinh Le of Loves Park, who is part of the franchise ownership team with Jackt LLC. “More than just opening a restaurant, we want to create, invest locally and build something our community can be proud of.
