Freeport man sends crash victim to hospital in wild chase with police

FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — Police say 20-year-old Connor Harden led deputies in a wild chase on Sunday that included launching his pickup truck into the air in an attempt to avoid spike strips, and ended in a crash that sent one person to the hospital.

According to the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office, around 12:25 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, deputies were called to Illinois Route 75 on reports that the driver of a blue Chevrolet pickup truck was driving recklessly near Eggert Road.

Deputies reported spotting the vehicle passing several vehicles in no-passing zones and speeding. Authorities said Harden refused to stop and instead led his pursuers through several Stephenson County communities before reaching Freeport…
