B-P to appeal Hudson transfer station expansion decision

HUDSON – The Hudson Select Board unanimously voted to fight an appeal from B-P Trucking, which wants to double the amount of trash brought to the Cox Street transfer station.

B-P notified the town late last week that it will appeal the Board of Health’s original denial of a “minor modification of site assignment.” B-P proposed building a new transfer station and increasing the volume of trash associated with the site from 350 tons per day to 850 tons per day.

The Board of Health found in April that the expansion would constitute a danger to public health, safety, and the environment. The decision came after dozens of hours of public testimony from community “intervenor” groups, as well as lengthy presentations from B-P-affiliated “experts.”…
