BALL GROUND, Ga. – After a decorated amateur and junior career to this point, Chase Kyes’ ascent in the world of golf continued with his first ticket to a major championship.
The Spain Park alum and Birmingham native Kyes qualified for the 126th US Open by emerging from the final round of qualifying at Hawks Ridge Golf Club in Ball Ground, Georgia on Monday, June 8.
“Honestly, there’s not much pressure because no one really expects a freshman to get through,” the Tennessee golfer Kyes said to Golf Channel’s Ryan Lavner. “No one really expects much, so you either make it or you miss. You kind of can swing free. It’s kind of nice.”…
