Thousands without power after severe storms roll through central Pennsylvania

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. (WHTM) — Thousands of PPL Electric Utilities customers are without power after a severe-warned line of thunderstorms moved through the Midstate.

The Allentown-based utility reported just under 10,000 customers affected by outages as of 8 p.m.

The bulk of the outages are in Cumberland County where 3,220 customers are out. PPL reported that 1,730 of those customers are in New Cumberland borough and 483 are in North Middleton Township…
