“Nature’s Palette” Exhibition Blooms at the Naples Botanical Garden

From the softest greens and browns to dazzling hues of red, orange and magenta, the natural environment of Southwest Florida offers up an entire spectrum of subtropical colors. That’s the message of “Nature’s Palette,” an exhibition of work by 25 women artists on view through June 21 in Naples Botanical Garden’s Kapnick Hall.

Organized by Naples artist Muffy Clark Gill and Kristen Kerwin, curator of arts and culture at the Naples Botanical Garden, “Nature’s Palette” contains photographs, paintings, mixed-media art and sculptural pieces. The main idea of the show is to highlight the beauty and resilience of Florida’s plant and animal life through the lens of color.

The exhibit also spotlights the creativity of women artists. Most but not all of them reside in Florida or live here part time. Gill, who’s well known locally as a painter, mixed-media creator and batik artist, is vice president of exhibitions for the Florida Chapter of the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA).
