New inland port strengthens Georgia supply chain connections

The Gainesville Inland Port officially opened in May, creating a new direct link between Northeast Georgia businesses and the Port of Savannah.

Operated by the Georgia Ports Authority, the facility allows cargo containers to move between Gainesville and Savannah by rail, helping reduce truck traffic and improve supply chain efficiency. The inland port is expected to support manufacturers, distributors and other businesses throughout the region by providing faster access to domestic and international markets.
