DES MOINES, Iowa — One person was hospitalized following a shooting on Court Avenue in downtown Des Moines early Friday morning, according to the Des Moines Police Department.
DMPD officers and rescue personnel from the Des Moines Fire Department responded to the 200 block of Court Avenue a little before 1:30 a.m. on a report of a person who had been shot, said Sgt. Paul Parizek, DMPD Public Information Officer.

When they arrived, they found a 24-year-old man with a gunshot injury to his lower body. After care was provided on the scene, he was transported to a Des Moines hospital for further treatment. Sgt. Parizek said the injury did not appear to be life-threatening.
The shooting stemmed from a dispute between two men, investigators learned, and escalated into a fight in which two gunshots were fired. Sgt. Parizek said the shooter fled the scene after the incident and has not been caught…
