Sunday Forecast: Pop-up showers, storms expected in the Carolinas with a chance of damaging winds

It was yet another scorching day across the Carolinas with more of the way Sunday, along with a few more showers and storms mixed in for the region.

On Monday and Tuesday, a brief cooldown is expected for the region behind a cold front. The cooler temperatures won’t last long as more mid-90s are expected for later next week.

As for tonight and your Sunday, partly cloudy skies along with a pop-up shower or storm are expected for the Carolinas with overnight lows that will be in the mid-70s.

Sunday will be another scorching day for the region with highs in the mid-90s, with it feeling more like 100. During the afternoon and early evening, we are tracking a few strong thunderstorms as a cold front rolls through the region with strong and gusty winds being the primary concern.

Heading into the new week, a brief cooldown is on the way for the region with highs that will dip below the 90-degree mark for Monday and Tuesday. The cooler weather won’t last long though as 90s will roll back into the region starting on Wednesday and will likely continue for the rest of the week…
