Poker players from across the region will converge on the Shreveport Bossier area this week. The Southern Poker Blazing Summer Series is making a stop at Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City.
This massive poker tournament includes several events including a special event for rookies. If you have always wanted to try a little poker action, but have been too intimidated, you might think about checking this out. The rookie event is Tuesday evening at 6pm.
There will be tournament events every day this week.

How Do You Enter the Poker Tournament?
First, you have to get a players card from the casino and then you show up to the poker room at the Horseshoe Casino and pay the entry fee for the tournament you are entering and you will be assigned a table where you will find a stack of chips waiting for you. If you bust out, you can re-enter the tournament (up to a cutoff time) by paying another entry fee.
How Much Can You Win in Poker Tournaments?
Each event has a different prize pool, but this big event has more than $150,000 dollars up for grabs. The cash winnings for each tournament are typically split up among the top finishers. The “money bubble” is determined by how many entries in each event…
