Secret plans allegedly underway to move Birmingham water utility out of city: ‘A slap in the face’

Birmingham’s regional water utility has made major changes in the last year, including new board members, a new slate of executives and even a new name that omits the major city it serves.

One board member says another major change is underway as the Central Alabama Water secretly plans to move its corporate offices away from the city of Birmingham and head to the suburbs of Shelby County.
