Ex-school resource officer won’t face charges in Jasper County Sheriff’s Office investigation

JASPER COUNTY, Iowa — A former PCM School Resource Officer will not be facing charges in an investigation where it was alleged that he was inappropriately communicating with a student.

In April, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office regarding allegations of inappropriate communication between a former PCM school resource officer with the Monroe Police Department, Carter Reichmann, and a former student, who was 17 years old when the communications occurred.

During the investigation, the JCSO said evidence collected from search warrants for multiple social media platforms showed that Reichmann and the student had been communicating through those platforms and that the interactions occurred outside of his role as an SRO.
