Records: Jackson pays off convention center hotel property three years early

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Documents obtained by 3 On Your Side through an open records request reveal more details about the city’s efforts to pay off a multimillion-dollar HUD loan used to purchase the property next to the Jackson Convention Complex.

Last week, city officials confirmed to WLBT that they had paid off the loan, which was issued nearly two decades ago to purchase the parcels needed to build a convention center hotel.
