Minnesota state catch-and-release record falls from one sister to another

LAKE COUNTY, MINN. (Valley News Live) – The Minnesota state’s catch-and-release record for rainbow trout (steelhead) has been broken.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says the state’s record has been broken by 12-year-old Sadie Spatafore of Maple Grove.

The record was previously set by her older sister, Lucy Spatafore.

Sadie caught a 30-inch steelhead on the Stewart River in Lake County in May, surpassing the previous record by 1.5 inches…
