Northwest fire crews battle early morning house fire

NORTHWEST, N.C. (WECT) – Northwest Volunteer Fire & Rescue crews responded around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, to a two-story house fire, finding flames coming from the second floor when they arrived.

Firefighters say they launched an interior attack and had the fire under control in about 45 minutes. No injuries were reported among firefighters or the home’s occupants, officials said.

The home sustained significant damage in the attic and a second-floor bedroom. Crews remained on scene until about 6:30 a.m. for overhaul and to investigate the fire’s cause and origin…
