SIUH Bocce, Golf & Tennis Classic marks 25 years of Heart Institute: Raises a whopping $343K

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island came together on June 8 for one of its most highly anticipated annual traditions, the Bocce, Golf & Tennis Classic, raising a record-breaking $343,000 in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Heart Institute at Northwell’s Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH).

Proceeds from the sold-out event, held at the Richmond County Country Club, will support future advancements in cardiovascular care and help expand access to innovative treatments for patients throughout the borough.

This year’s event also honored Dr. Mitchell D. Weinberg, chair of cardiology at SIUH, and Dr. Alexander Iribarne, chair of cardiothoracic surgery and co-director of the Lois & Richard Nicotra Heart Institute, recognizing their shared leadership in transforming heart care on Staten Island.
