Fairport mayoral race: Deputy Mayor Heidi Woika leads over trustee Tracy Briggs

FAIRPORT, N.Y. — The Village of Fairport will soon have a new mayor. Heidi Woika, who has served as deputy mayor since January 2025, appears to be winning the Democratic primary, beating out Tracy Briggs, a village board trustee and teacher.

With 57% of results in on Wednesday morning, Woika has 54.14% of votes, while Briggs has 45.56%. Two Democrats are looking to replace current Mayor Julie Domaratz, who is not seeking re-election.

With no Republican nominee registered for the village mayor race, the mayor’s seat is essentially handed to the winner of the primary. News10NBC’s Tom Kowalski spoke with voters about what they want to see changed in the village…
