LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A Lexington man says a nearby sewer construction project may have contributed to the severity of flash flooding that left several feet of water in his yard on Venice Park and caused thousands of dollars in damage.
Chris McGinley said Monday’s flash flooding hit his backyard and also got into his garage and crawl space. While he said some have described the flooding as unusual, he does not believe rain was fully to blame.
McGinley said the city has been working for more than a year on the Wolf Run Sewer Project, which he said focuses on improving sewer lines in several areas, including an area right next to his backyard…
