Travel on Turnpike Expected To Be Busy For July 4th

Many travelers will soon set out for Independence Day trips, and the PA Turnpike is advising drivers to be ready for increased traffic.

As part of the holiday travel period that begins today and continues through Sunday, July 5th the Turnpike Commission expects that over six and a half million motorists will utilize the cross-state roadway.

All maintenance and construction work on the Turnpike will be suspended starting tomorrow. Since this is the first major holiday travel period since the full enforcement of no handheld devices while driving, Turnpike travelers could see increased patrols of PA State Police…
