Northern Nevada HOPES expands mental health services

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Northern Nevada HOPES is expanding access to mental health care with a new walk-in behavioral health clinic aimed at connecting more people to services, including those who may not know where to start.

Staff members say the clinic is designed to help bridge gaps in care in a region that offers a variety of mental health resources, but where navigating options can still be difficult for patients and families.

“Effectively, our community has a lot of resources. Unfortunately, sometimes those resources aren’t available. And so, I think that’s why we opted into doing an access clinic, where people are able to walk in, where we’re hoping to reduce those barriers to those resources,” says Alvaro Maldonado, the behavioral health integration coordinator at Northern Nevada HOPES…
