Tulsa, TPS seek redevelopment proposals for five sites to boost housing

TULSA, Oklahoma – The announcement is part of the city’s effort to help create 6,000 affordable housing units by 2028.

Mayor Monroe Nichols said the city will need new partnerships and investments to address Tulsa’s housing shortage.

Five properties included

The joint request for proposals includes:

  • Horsley Hill, 815 S. Riverside Drive (city-owned, housing required)
  • Gilcrease Hills Village II (city-owned, housing required)
  • Former Greeley Elementary School (TPS-owned)
  • Former Sandburg Elementary School (TPS-owned)
  • Ford Lot near East 61st Street North and North Delaware Avenue (TPS-owned)

The city says it will invest up to $3.7 million to help develop the Horsley Hill site and may offer a long-term ground lease.

The three Tulsa Public Schools properties are also available for redevelopment, but any sale or redevelopment plan must be approved by the TPS Board of Education…
