One of the sharpest heat waves in recent memory is expected to begin in Delaware on Wednesday.
The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Watch from Wednesday to Saturday, with WDEL Chief Meteorologist Mike Lichniak saying high temperatures Thursday-Saturday could approach or exceed 100 degrees, with heat indexes possibly getting above 110.
