Former DuPont campus is becoming a life-science hub with major tenants, new jobs and visitor demand
WILMINGTON — The opening of the new Residence Inn by Marriott at Chestnut Run is more than the arrival of another hotel. It is the latest sign that one of New Castle County’s most important former DuPont properties is being transformed into a modern life-science and advanced-manufacturing campus.
The 127-room extended-stay hotel sits inside the Chestnut Run Innovation & Science Park, known as CRISP, along Route 141 near Wilmington. The campus is the redevelopment of the former DuPont Chestnut Run site, a property long associated with Delaware’s chemical, research and innovation economy.
Now led by MRA Group, CRISP is being repositioned as a multi-tenant campus for biopharmaceutical manufacturing, research and development, applied sciences, office space and campus amenities…
