SARASOTA, Fla. — More than five decades after Sgt. Dennis Orbino was killed in Vietnam, his family gathered at a Sarasota restaurant Friday as a permanent tribute to his life was unveiled.
Orbino enlisted in the Marine Corps at 17 and waited until he turned 18 to deploy. He served three tours in Vietnam, reached the rank of sergeant at 19, and led 18 missions. He was 21 years old when he was killed on March 25, 1969.
A choice that changed two families…
