DeKalb County case alleges fugitive status over Kansas charge

A DeKalb County, Missouri, prosecutor has filed an amended misdemeanor charge alleging that a woman, Kristin Deal, of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, is a fugitive from justice after authorities determined she was wanted in Kansas on a driving while intoxicated allegation.

According to court records, the charge stems from an investigation conducted by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office on July 2, 2026. Investigators reported they were notified that the defendant had an active warrant issued in Johnson County, Kansas, and that Kansas authorities intended to extradite her. The warrant was issued Jan. 21, 2026, in connection with a misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol allegation.
