HIXSON, Tenn. — A Hixson family is trying to figure out what comes next after a large apartment fire destroyed their home just days after they brought their first child home from the hospital.
Hunter Shirk says his wife, Areli, gave birth to their first daughter, Ella, last Tuesday.
Shirk says five days later, their apartment was destroyed by a fire.
Shirk says they lost everything inside the apartment, including clothes, jewelry and other memorable items.
