The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher opened Discovery Bay on Wednesday, July 8, at Independence Mall in Wilmington while its main facility undergoes a multi-year renovation. The pop-up location held a ribbon-cutting ceremony during the morning.
Discovery Bay sits across from the arcade in the JCPenney wing. The mini-aquarium showcases habitats with lionfish, seahorses, frogs, fish, and carnivorous plants.
