NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — New Hanover County has begun mailing 2026 property tax bills, with property owners expected to receive them by mid-August.
Property taxes are due Sept. 1 and can be paid without interest through Jan. 5, 2027. Property owners whose taxes are paid through a mortgage escrow account will receive a courtesy notice and are encouraged to confirm payment with their mortgage company.
The county tax rate for fiscal year 2026-27 is 30.6 cents per $100 of assessed value. Property owners in unincorporated areas will also see a 7.25-cent fire services tax and a separate stormwater services fee.
